Thank Goodness for Monday!

We hope all our US friends had a great Thanksgiving vacation. Some of us even had an extended weekend. But it's Monday, and that's great! TGIM! If you sympathize with a certain lasagne-munching cat, such a sentiment may seem preposterous. Monday? That means the weekend is over! It's time to go back to work! Why would anyone celebrate that?

The previous week ended with the weekend; that's why we call it that. Monday is the beginning of the new week. And that's why it's so great! It's a beginning. It's a starting point.

Life is full of cycles. Things begin and end. A week may be an arbitrary division of days on a calendar, but it is also a cycle. Every new go-round is a new opportunity for creation.

More than that, every single day is such a cycle. The morning starts with the rising sun and ends with nightly slumber. Each day is also an opportunity, whether Monday or Saturday. As we've all heard numerous times, life is about the journey not the destination. Weekends are not destinations. Neither are Mondays.

In the end, Monday - just as any other day - is only what you make of it.
