Here Come the Rainbows! - Beyond Performative Pandering during Pride Month

Pride Month is celebrated every June. It serves as a vital opportunity to recognize and support the LGBTQ+ community. With increasing visibility and acceptance, corporations have begun to align themselves with the principles of inclusivity and diversity. However, we think it's crucial to differentiate between true advocacy and the act of performative pandering. The value of genuine support is quickly becoming buried amidst the superficial gestures of corporations. This is a bad thing.  Critics and allies alike are becoming increasingly aware of...

Mother's Day+

The only memories I have of my mother and father are watching them on old VHS videos with my Gramma. They were taken from me before I was old enough to understand anything. I like to imagine they watch over me even if there isn't much they can do from where they are. I'm sure they loved me. Civil unrest, division, and outrage at true inequality being codified into law was the background for this event. Even in the midst of all that, Dr. King saw the opportunity to "transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood."

I Took a Little Trip...

It's good to be home! After several trips visiting a few incredible different places, seeing amazing sights, and recharging my heart, soul, and mind, I am happy to finally be back on home soil. Of all the various exotic and exciting locales in which I stopped, I would have to say one was the most enriching and enlightening. At the end of my training, I felt...

Dream Axiom Community Initiatives

Dream Axiom's team is comprised of a small but dedicated team of diverse, action oriented, and compassionate people. As a result of our discussions, we are assembling specific initiatives to make both immediate and long-term impact. These initiatives will focus on the following: 1. Helping our neighbors in RVA and CBUS clean up after recent events. 2. Examining opportunities for us to invest our time and capital to support our local communities. 3. Improving our recruiting and outreach to increase minority applicants for positions at Dream Axiom.
